I have a map of Arizona for sale, $10. Its title is ARIZONA ROAD MAP and it was created by Arizona Highways (AH). I suspect it was included in a book or monthly magazine. It has a copyright of 1989 printed on it. Unfolded it measures 36” high by 24” wide and folded to 9” high by 6” wide. This map, considering its age of 37 years, I would say is in excellent condition. It was originally folded and is still folded to this day and it does not show any rips or tears, smudges, pencil/pen marks or spilled liquids; nothing included that was not originally printed on the map. It is pristine. The paper is holding itself together very nicely for its age but when handling this map, one must be very careful.
I stand behind my pledge that there is no damage what so ever to this map. If you find damage when you come to our house as we previously agreed upon a ‘pickup the map’ time and of course you pay me $10, I will give you back your $10 if the map is not as I have described. I’m not ‘joshing’.
I have given this map monetary value because it is of the state of Arizona and dated and shows lots of detailed information on cities in Arizona and dated information about when certain highways and freeways will be completed or planned. You can see if Arizona Highways were correct on their dating the construction of certain highways. I think if you are a map person and collect maps, yes, some folks do collect maps, this one would go very nicely into your collection, especially if you don’t have a State of Arizona map of this age. The entire state and certain information are on one side and details and more information is on the reverse side. This map is what you would expect from ‘Arizona Highways at that time. For your contact and payment to me of $10. I would be most happy to mail it to you at my cost, OR if you are reasonable within the Yuma area I will bring it to you, delivery is free as is the postage if I mail it to you. You must mail me a check or some such similar valid money but not pesos or Canadian money.
I am a permanent resident of Yuma. My wife and I have lived here for 10 years in the same house and l live on what I call the Western edge of the Foothills Area. My house is easy to find not far from Walmart but in order to get the address you need to contact me through Craigslist. Craigslist, wants it that way. Then we may connect and work out the details to pay and hand over the map.
I love maps having at one time been employed as a draftsman who drew city maps for a small to medium size city in So Cal. These were the ‘base maps’ that were used to identify many of the utilities, facilities and service place in that small city. They grow so fast don’t you know. Yes, I did many base maps from land surveys and other sources of information. My gratification was to see city employees and others using these maps. Yes, that was back in the dark ages when maps were drawn from scratch. Call me Al, or Grandpa Al, the ‘map maker’.
